Why did you get into studying the microbiome?
In my research into the health effects of environmental chemicals, I began to wonder about direct effects on gut health and microbiome. Both the field of environmental health and the microbiome have exploded in the last decade and the research into where these two fields overlap is just starting to be published in earnest, which is very exciting!
