Star Edwards
RDN

Star Edwards is a Registered Dietitian certified in Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy with extensive experience in patient and provider education, staff training, and content development.

She initially grew interested in functional medicine while searching for the root causes and treatments for her autoimmune condition and her son’s eosinophilic esophagitis, a chronic inflammatory condition of the esophagus linked to environmental and food allergies. Her experience in the kitchen and as an RD helped her recreate her family’s pantry and meals to accommodate their new diet free of gluten, wheat, eggs, dairy, nuts, soy, and fish. Star has helped her own clients in her private dietetic practice resolve and manage conditions including celiac disease, food sensitivities and allergies, diabetes, eating disorders, and more.

She has married her experience as a WIC high-risk dietitian for the prenatal and pediatric population with functional medicine, and more specifically, the microbiome as a Learning and Development Manager at Microbiome Labs. She currently educates, trains, and provides clinical support within Microbiome Labs and to providers, with a heavy focus on the BiomeFx Functional Microbiome Analysis. She is passionate about supporting her family’s health through functional medicine and teaching others how to do the same.
